Rangers dominate again

The Ranger cross country team is climbing the state rankings. After handily defeating the Canyon Eagles last week, they jumped over them in the rankings. Perryton moved from fifth in the state 4A rankings to number three this week.

The Rangerette volleyball team is competing in the toughest 4A district in the state. If the teams were not in the same district, many of them could travel deep into the playoffs. The Rettes continue to battle the injury bug and inconsistency.

Rangers dominate in Canyon

The Perryton Ranger cross country team ran in the Canyon Invitational meet Saturday. This event hosts numerous teams of all classifications with a large number of races. It served as a good chance for Perryton to face some of their district competition.

Rangerettes struggle in Pampa

The Rangerette volleyball team entered a tough venue on Saturday to face the Pampa Lady Harvesters. Perryton continues to fight the injury bug and were limited without the production from leading scorer and defender Gisselle Hernandez. Hernandez remains on the injury reserve list with a foot injury.

PHS Wranglers Freshmen Football

The Perryton High School freshmen football team hosted the Pampa ninth grade Harvesters on Thursday, Oct. 1, at Ranger Field and came away with a 32-0 win. The Wranglers won the toss and deferred to the second half and kicked off to Pampa.

The Rangerette volleyball team faced tough tasks in their last two district matches. Their opponents were both perennial powerhouses who are always near the top of the state rankings. Both teams are deep and look to make another run at a state title.

The Perryton Wranglers ninth grade football team traveled to Bushland on Thursday, Sept. 24. The Wranglers spotted the Bushland Falcons 21 points in the first quarter, and that proved to be more than the Wranglers could overcome, losing 21-14.

The Rangerette volleyball team faced a long-time foe to open the 2020 district season. The Rettes loaded the bus and headed to Borger to challenge the Borger Lady Bulldogs. Going into the game, even odds were placed on each team to win in the competitive district race.

A two-day retreat Sept. 18-19 marked the beginning of Leadership Perryton XIX. The nine-month program for 22 class members will teach leadership skills that can be used personally, in business, and in the community.

The Rangerette volleyball team had a re-match with a familiar foe. The Rettes hoped to avenge an early season loss to the Dalhart Lady Wolves. The Lady Wolves defeated Perryton in their first match by the score of 3-1 in the second match of the season.
