The Rangerette softball bats came alive on Tuesday in Perryton. The Rettes pounded their way to a win over the Gruver Lady Greyhounds by the final score of 20-2 in three innings. It was a very good victory for the Rettes and gives them some confidence heading to tournament play this weekend.

PHS tennis records best outing in years

The Perryton High School tennis teams competed at the Amarillo Open last week. It was the best outing collectively for the tennis program in several years. The team walked away with several tops spots. Coach Toby Brown said, “We were blessed with warm weather and not much wind.

PHS battles Bushland for championships

Both the boys and girls track teams shined in Pampa last week at the Top O’ Texas Relays. The Rangers took the team championship with a narrow margin win over Bushland. Perryton totaled 192 points over Bush-land’s 190 points to take the title. The Rettes finished second as a team with 151 points.

The Rangerette softball team challenged their neighbor on Tuesday for a hefty battle. Perryton faced the Booker Lady Kiowas softball team on a very pretty afternoon. The game was close throughout as the sun shined.

The Rangerette powerlifting team dominated at the regional meet on Saturday. The dominance was nothing new for the powerlifting dynasty. It was Perryton’s fifth regional championship in a row. In addition, they had 14 lifters qualify for the state meet.

Coach Toby Brown loaded up his tennis teams and headed to Canadian and Amarillo last week. The weather was good, and the squads got in several quality matches. The competition was also strong, which allowed the Perryton teams to develop their different game strategies.

Hurdlers shine as track comes out of the blocks

The 2021 track season has begun, which means it is time for the spring winds to howl out of the north. The sun will shine just enough to make you feel the need to only pack a lightweight jacket. The hurdlers led both the Rangers and Rangerettes in the first meet in Dumas on Saturday.
