City’s sales tax payment up almost 7% for March

The City of Perryton saw a nice increase in its sales tax payment in March. The city’s payment of $221,195 was up 6.75% over last March. Its payments to date are slightly behind 2023, 1.3%, with $749,152. Several area cities also saw increases in their payments for March. Amarillo’s payment of $7.

Perryton High School’s Theatre Department performed in UIL One-Act Play District competition on Tuesday at West Plains High School. Perryton’s play was “No Room for a Picture on the Blank Wall” by David R. Remschel.

Kiwanis Club to hold annual auction March 16

The Perryton Kiwanis Club will hold its 40th annual auction fund-raiser on Saturday, March 16, at the Ochiltree County Expo Center. The auction is the major fund-raising event of the year for the Kiwanis Club. The sale will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Art students do well at VASE competition

Art students at Perryton High School participated in the Texas Art Education Association’s Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) on Saturday, Feb. 24. There were 26 student entries from PHS at the Amarillo Area Contest in February.
