Rangers lose close one, 27-25, to Dumas Demons

The Rangers lost a close one, 27-25, to Dumas Friday night at Ranger Field. The Rangers caused four Dumas turnovers, and played well on offense and defense, but missed extra points that spelled the difference in the game.

Despite the hot weather and tough conditions, the PHS cross country teams have been hard at work. This year’s squads are under the direction of Coach Griffin Brosowske.

WORLD CHAMPS!

Three Perryton High School powerlifters captured world championships at the International Powerlifting Federation’s World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey. Bringing home the gold were, from left, Saleen Nyman, Christian Laja and Alejandra Salas. They join two other PHS lifters as champs, Janet Becerril won two world championships, and Josue Becerril who won a national championship in 2019.

Canyon Eagles top Rangers, 48-27

The Rangers lost 48-27 to Canyon Friday night in Perryton. Canyon was on offense first, and began a 75 yard scoring drive, that ended with a 20 yard pass completion from Derek Clements to Elijah Smothermon.

Rangers win big, 48-20

The Rangers kicked off their 2022 season with a big 48-20 win over Dalhart on the road last Friday. Dalhart was up first with the ball, going nowhere.

PJH CHERLEADERS ATTEND CAMP—The Perryton Junior High cheerleaders attended camp at the University of Oklahoma July 11-14. They came home with a trophy for top team Chant, an award for Excellence in Spirit, and superior ribbons for band chant and team cheer.
