Elks edge out Rangers 28-21for win

The Rangers lost another close one Friday night, coming up just short in a 28-21 victory by the Stratford Elks. The loss drops Perryton’s record to 1-5. They open district against Levelland there this Friday. Stratford was up first Friday night, and took eight plays to find the end zone.

Pampa took a close 28-21 win at Ranger Field on Friday night. The Rangers had a hard time stopping the Harvesters in the first half, but came back in the second half to nearly pull off the win. Pampa opened the game with a long scoring drive that began at their own 13 yard line.

Wildcats beat Rangers 56-14 Friday

The Rangers battled a formidable opponent last Friday in Canadian. The Wildcats’ offense and defense were too much, and they took the win 56-14. The Rangers began the game with the ball, but after a fumble, which they recovered, for a loss on third down, they punted.

Rangers to host Pampa Friday for homecoming

The Pampa Harvesters will come to town this Friday for a homecoming game with the Rangers. Game time is 7 p.m. The Harvesters are 2-2 on the season so far. In their season opener, they beat Big Spring 27-20, and followed that with a 25-21 win over Plainview.

Rangers lose close one, 27-25, to Dumas Demons

The Rangers lost a close one, 27-25, to Dumas Friday night at Ranger Field. The Rangers caused four Dumas turnovers, and played well on offense and defense, but missed extra points that spelled the difference in the game. Dumas had the ball first, briefly.

PHS Cross Country

Despite the hot weather and tough conditions, the PHS cross country teams have been hard at work. This year’s squads are under the direction of Coach Griffin Brosowske. Both teams started their season with the Canyon Relays on Aug. 27. The relay style race is unique in the cross-country calendar.
