Tommy “Tom” Glenn File, 67, of Perryton died on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Community Worship Center in Perryton, with a graveside service following at 3 p.m. at the Fairmont Cemetery, Follett.

Tom was born on July 5, 1954, in Perryton to Harry LeeRoy and Alma Juanita (Sisk) File.

Tom graduated from Follett High School in 1972. He then attended Amarillo College. Tom worked as a mechanic at several dealerships in Follett, Panhandle, and Shattuck, OK before starting his own automotive repair shop.

While working at Browns at Shattuck, he met Bonita K. Custer. Tom married Bonita on Oct. 12, 1985.

Tom enjoyed drag racing, restoring classic muscle cars, participating in car shows, and going to auto swap meets. He was a member of the Show-timers Car Club and an active member of Gideons International. He also loved summer vacations to the Rocky Mountains. Tom was active in the various churches he attended. He enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher and assisting with Jireh.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry LeeRoy and Alma Juanita File, and one brother, David File.

Survivors include his wife Bonita File of Perryton; sons, Gregory File and his wife Jennifer of Derby, KS, and Timothy File of Perryton’; his brother, Kenneth File and wife Claudette of Logan, OK; his sister-in-law Reann File of Bushland; brother-in-law, Merl Custer of Booker; nephews, Joseph File of Bushland and son, Dwayne File and his wife Lesli of Aubrey and their daughters, Brian File and his wife Britney of Alva, OK, Mervin Custer and wife Ronda of Woodward, OK and their children, and Wesley Ward of Canon City, CO and children; nieces, LaShanna Johnson and her husband Don of Derby, KS, and Shari Moore and her husband Howard from Helena, OK and their children; and many, many friends.
