John Robert Overton, Jr., 77, of Perryton, died July 8, 2026 in Borger.
Memorial services were held Monday, July 13, at Key Heights Baptist Church, with Rev. Duce Cooper officiating. Cremation arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 2, 1948 in Perryton, and married his wife, Glynda, on Aug. 15, 1966 in Perryton.
He worked as a truck driver in the petroleum industry, and served as a sheriff’s deputy. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Key Heights Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one son, Glynn Overton; one daughter, Sonya Karber; and his parents, Jackline (Phipp) and John Robert Overton.
He is survived by his wife, Glynda, of Perryton; one daughter, Heather Overton of Stanton; three brothers, Lyndon Overton of Follett, Neal Overton of Clairfield, UT and Tony Overton of Corpus Christi; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
