Nevarez rites set

Carmela Nevarez, 61, of Perryton, died Jan. 16, 2024 in Perryton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Perryton, with Sergio Estrada officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral home.

She was born July 16, 1962 in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico. She worked as a preparation cook in restaurants. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marcelino Ayala; and one sister, Maria Gaytan.

She is survived by one daughter, Marcy Nevarez of Perryton; her mother, Flora Ayala; two sisters, Susie Estrada and Mona Carrasco, both of Perryton; and three grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Ochiltree General Hospital Hospice, 3019 S. Main, Perryton.
