Linda Louise Janow Humphreys, 71, of Alvarado, formerly of Perryton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 12, 2023, in Cleburne.

She was born in Oklahoma City, OK on January 13, 1952 to Billie Ray Janow and Alice Louise (Renfro) Janow, the first of five daughters. Linda attended Perryton schools and married Bobby Humphreys in May 1968. They had three children. They moved to Booker some years later, where she worked at the Booker Bank.

When their nest was empty, she travelled with her husband while working on pipelines and much of the time she worked alongside him as his helper. They worked in lots of different states.

In 1990, they settled in New Orleans, LA, where Linda enlisted in the Navy, serving for eight years in the Administrative Office in the payroll department. She took great pride in being a veteran.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, and “Bessie” to her grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy and she kept them covered in prayers. Coming back to Texas, they settled in Alvarado, where they lived at the time of her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Ivory Beth Lawrence.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby of Alvarado; sons, Billy of Dallas, and Robert of Marietta, OK; daughter, Tanya Babin and husband, Randy of Aribi, LA; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; sisters, Kay Mullins and husband, Tom of Dimmitt, Bonnie Marvin of Barnsdall, OK, Donna Slaughter and husband, Carl of Perryton, and Suzanne Sooter and husband, Perry of Amarillo.

There will be no service at this time. The family will have a private celebration of Linda’s life at a later date.
