Julie Ellis

Julianne Cunningham Ellis passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2024 in Imperial Beach, California, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 23, 1949 to Charles and Evelyn Cunningham in Perryton. Then God broke the mold from which He made her. A fiercely proud free spirit with the world’s largest heart, she was known for her infectious laugh, her brilliant smile and her boundless energy.

She was everyone’s Mom on Fordham Street in Perryton, where all her children’s friends came to get advice on life. She was proud of raising four children with Carl, and she loved and cared for her husband after he received a lifesaving lung transplant.

“BB” adored all her grandchildren and will be laughing THAT laugh as she watches them grow from heaven, “Papa” by her side.

She is preceded in death by her husband Carl, her daughter Amy Oliver, her mother Evelyn Close and her father Chuck.

She is survived by her son, Jake Ellzey (Shelby), her daughter Courtney, son Brian Ellis (Jennifer) and son-in-law Joel Oliver (Emily), brother, Allen Cunningham and sister Jacqueline Naylor (Dale). Grandchildren McCall and Jack Ellzey, Blade Hawes, Emerson Jordan, Harper and Wilson Ellis, Wynn, Jax, and Bennett Oliver, and Mia, Morgan and Samantha Thompson.

If you knew Mom, you’d know she didn’t care for flowers, so please send any memorials to a 529 education fund for your children or grandchildren. She would want us to say that. She wants everyone to celebrate her life, not mourn her passing.
