Barbara Betty Dearing, 81, of Perryton passed away Saturday, Janu. 23, 2021.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Ochiltree County Cemetery with Rev. Mark Metzger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Barbara was born Oct. 2, 1939 to Gerald and Mary Elizabeth (Stranathan) Betty in Alva, OK. She had a teaching degree and taught school for a while. She was proud of the time she spent as a bank examiner and she was a member of the First United Methodist Church choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Ann Black, and her brother, Dr. Claude Betty.

She is survived by niece, Marcia and Doug Hale of Perryton; nephew, Gerald Betty of Corpus Christi; niece Barbie Padgett of Dodge City, KS; niece, Leigh Anne Betty and Mark Childs of Cypress; nephew, David Betty and Jace Rogat of Denver, CO; niece, Mary K. Betty and Broutin Sherrill of Englewood, CO; nephew, Steve Black and Tracy Mourton of Charlottesville, VA; sister-in-law, Mary D. Betty of Perryton; and brother-in-law Gary and Vicky Black of Perryton. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
