Ashley Hladik, 37, of Booker, passed away on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Booker Friends Church in Booker. There will be a meal following the memorial service for those who would like to attend.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Ashley was born on April 20, 1983 and was adopted by Linda and Leon Shook. Ashley grew up in the Wichita, KS area and Broken Arrow, OK before moving to Liberal, KS where she attended and graduated high school.

After high school, Ashley attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University, where she met Ryan Hladik at the end of her first semester in college.

On July 5, 2003, Ashley and Ryan were married in the Booker Friends Church. Ashley continued attending school, graduating in the spring of 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in fine arts and computer graphics.

After graduation, Ashley and Ryan moved to Booker. In 2009, Ashley gave birth to their first daughter, Kathryn Kay, then to Elizabeth Shaye in 2010. Ashley continued working for Fronk Oil Company, then for Overflow Energy, while raising their two daughters.

Ashley loved her job and helping out in the church, having taken on the responsibility of running the sound system and computer programs for church. In 2018, Ashley and Ryan were blessed with their third child, Jesse Paul. In October 2019,

Ashley began a long battle with cancer. In April of 2020, Ashley was given good news that the treatments had worked and the cancer had gone into remission. Unfortunately, in November of 2020 the cancer had returned, and Ashley was once again in the fight of her life. Ashley lost her long, hard fought battle with cancer and was called home by her Heavenly Father on Feb. 8, 2021.

Ashley was preceded in death by her grandparents Elaine and Pappy Lynch, Dolly and Jesse Shook, and Aunt Linda Agosto.

Ashley is survived by her husband Ryan Hladik, daughters Katy and Lizzie, and son Jesse all of the home; her parents Leon and Linda Shook; siblings Secilia Owens and husband Steve and family, Willa Kelsheimer, Matthew Nold, Courtney, Jessica, and Johnathan Shook; mother and father-in-law Steve and Linda Hladik; sister and brother-in-law Sara and Mike Shasteen and family; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request any donations to be made in Ashley’s name to the Harrington Cancer Center, 1751 Wallace Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79106
