On October 15, 2020 Maria Amanda Peña Valenzuela passed away at the age of 75.

Amanda was born on May 23, 1945 in Pinos Altos, Chihuahua, Mexico. She married Enrique (Henry) Payan Valenzuela on October 20, 1999. She had one son, Andres,and two daughters, Maria de Los Angeles and Christina.

Amanda was a homemaker and enjoyed making all sorts of fresh foods including homemade cheese, bread, tamales, apple jams, empanadas, and many other items. She loved taking care of her cattle, peacocks, turkey, and sheep.

She enjoyed tending to her plants, vegetable garden, and fruit trees. She could preserve and can any food you can think of including jalapenos, peaches, apples, all sorts of vegetables, beef and deer meats. She liked making hand-made table cloths, curtains, etc.

Amanda is preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Vargas Peña.

She is survived by her husband, Enrique (Henry) Payan Valenzuela; her son, Andres Vargas Peña and wife Evelyn of Perryton; her daughter, Maria Vargas Peña of Casas Grande, Chihuahua Mexico; her stepchildren, Josh and Miguel Valenzuela of Perryton, Andrew Valenzuela of Darrouzett, Benjamin Valenzuela of Bushland, Susan Valenciana of Wichita KS and Lourdes Valenzuela Bustillos of Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico; her grandchildren, Abigail, Andres and Adrian Vargas of Perryton, ; Alejandra and Yvette Lizeth Enriquez Vargas of Casa Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico; and six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to one’s favorite charity.
