Gwen McKnight, 94, of Perryton, died Sept. 9, 2026.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 12, at Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
She was born Nov. 5, 1931 in Modesto, CA, and married Bill McKnight Nov. 25, 1968 in Booker. She was the first female police officer and deputy in Perryton and Ochiltree County. She also started Toys for Tots in Perryton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents, Clifton and Bessie Sanders; and one great-granddaughter, Baylee Ratcliff.
She is survived by three sons, H.L. Ratcliff of Irving; Robert M. Ratcliff of Hasty, CO and Randy Ratcliff of Lamar, CO; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine great-greatgrandchildren.
