May Day Mission set

The First United Methodist Church is once again having its May Day Mission Project on Saturday, May 1. Church members will be working in the community on that day completing needed projects around town for those who can not do it themselves.

PHS Reunion canceled

After much thought and heavy discussion, the volunteers responsible for planning the PHS Ex-Students Ex-Teachers Reunion have decided it was too big a challenge to undertake this year, after being postponed last year due to COVID-19. The next reunion will be in 2025.

Crisis center store accepting donations

The Panhandle Crisis Center’s Resale Store is now accepting all donations. The store is only accepting two bags of clothing at a time and requests no one bring more than that.

United/United Way golf tourney set

The United Way/United Supermarket 24th Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, April 24, beginning with a 10 a.m. shot gun start. Entry fee is $45 per player for the two player, 18 hole scramble. Gross and net prizes will be awarded. To sign up, contact the Perryton Golf Club pro shop.

Athletes, band physical night set

Physical night for all Perryton athletics and marching band will be Thursday, April 21 for boys, and Friday, April 22, for girls. Both will be from 6-8 p.m. in the Rangerette Center at Perryton High School.

Blood drive set for May 4

Coffee Memorial Blood Center will hold a community blood drive in Perryton on Tuesday, May 4, from 2-6 p.m. at Frank Phillips College, Allen Campus. You can call 806-331-8833 to schedule an appointment, or you can just walk in to donate.

OGH Pink Ladies seeking volunteers

The Ochiltree General Hospital Ladies’ Auxiliary is seeking volunteers to serve the hospital and its patients. To join or for more information, contact any of the Pink Ladies through the OGH Gift Shop.

City to hold lifeguard classes

The City of Perryton will offer lifeguard classes on April 21-25 and May 12-16 at 5 p.m., each day at the Perryton Activity Center. Assistance will be available for anyone needing help with any water skills prior to the class. Call City Hall at 435-4014 for more information.

Library storm shelter open for emergencies

The storm shelter at Perry Memorial Library is again open in case of tornados. Due to the large number of people who come to the shelter, the library is requiring that everyone 10 or older must be wearing a mask when they enter the shelter. No masks will be given — you must bring your own.

FPC sets GED testing dates for April

Frank Phillips College Allen Campus will hold tests for the GED on April 23, and 30. The tests will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can register for the exam at https://ged.com/; the fee for the test is $35. Registration must be completed at least one day before the test is administered.
