Leadership Perryton attends poverty simulation

Members of Leadership Perryton XIX participated in a Community Action Poverty Simulation on Friday, learning about some of the realities and challenges faced by low-income families.

Wolf Creek Neighbors to meet

The Wolf Creek Neighbors will meet on Tuesday, May 11 at the Malaney Ranch at 6:30 p.m. Smoked ham will be served. Neighbors are welcome to attend.

PHS awards assembly set

The Perryton High School Awards Assembly will be held Thursday, May 13, at 9 a.m. in the Perryton High School auditorium. Graduating seniors will be awarded with various local scholarships and honors including Who’s Who and Best All-Around.

Wheatheart Wheat Field Day announced

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Ochiltree and Lipscomb counties will be hosting a wheat field day on Tuesday, May 18. Interested producers will need to gather at the Noon Vela farm, 2.5 miles north FM 759 on County Road 11 at 10 a.m.

PHS Class of 1971 sets reunion

PARSPA scholarship available

The Perryton Area Retired School Personnel Association (PARSPA) has a scholarship available for any junior or senior in college or post graduate majoring in education and planning to become a teacher. Applications are available now, and the deadline to submit an application is June 30.

Perryton Golf Classic set

The Perryton Golf Classic will be held May 15-16. Tee of is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Entry fee is $100 per player for the two person, better ball tourney.

PARSPA sets meeting

The Perryton Area Retired School Personnel Association (PARSPA) has scheduled an in-person meeting for Monday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the New Hope Fellowship Church, 2821 S. Ash Street. Guest speaker will be PISD Superintendent James Mireles.

Museum to host barn quilt painting event

The Museum of the Plains is hosting a barn quilt painting event on Saturday, May 8, from 10 a.m-4 p.m. The cost is $20 per person and lunch will be provided, including all painting materials and a 1x1’ board, as well as instruction.

Rifle and Pistol Club sets monthly meeting

The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, May 6, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Building. The club will be discussing new and ongoing projects. All are welcome — new memberships and renewals will be available.
