PHS Reunion canceled

After much thought and heavy discussion, the volunteers responsible for planning the PHS Ex-Students Ex-Teachers Reunion have decided it was too big a challenge to undertake this year, after being postponed last year due to COVID-19. The next reunion will be in 2025.

Library storm shelter open for emergencies

The storm shelter at Perry Memorial Library is again open in case of tornados. Due to the large number of people who come to the shelter, the library is requiring that everyone 10 or older must be wearing a mask when they enter the shelter. No masks will be given — you must bring your own.

Chamber Banquet postponed

The Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce Banquet has been postponed. Preliminary plans are to hold the banquet on Oct. 7 of this year. Details of the event will be released closer to the event date in October.

Jennie June Club installs new officers has program on OGH home health, hospice and The Seasons

The Jennie June Club met May 12 for a luncheon and installation of officers at the Senior Citizen Center. Hostesses were Barbara Johnson and Roberta Christian. Sandra Burton, director of Ochiltree General Hospital Home Health and Hospice and The Seasons assisted living facility, gave the program.

Day quilt group has program on making Bargello quilts

The Friendship Quilt Guild day group met May 12 at Community Worship Center. Cynthia Shattles gave a demonstration on a two fabric Bargello quilt. Members had workshop time to cut and get started on their own quilts. The business meeting was conducted by president Ilene Floyd.
