Quiet week for crime

The wintry weather last week appeared to affect crime as well, as very few offenses were reported or arrests made. Williams Intermediate School had a window on the west side of the main entrance shot out, possibly by a BB or pellet gun. Damage was estimated at $2,000.

Fourth graders at Williams Intermediate Elementary School held a history program this week. Students researched a figure from Texas history and wrote a short biography of the figure.

OGH records drop in new COVID cases

Ochiltree General Hospital announced on Wednesday that they had recorded a significant drop in new COVID-19 cases in the last week. According to Chief Nursing Officer Jyme Kinnard, RN, OGH completed 90 total COVID-19 tests in the last seven days, with 27 of those tests turning out positive.

Ramsey Leadership Perryton appearance rescheduled for tonight

A week later than scheduled, Courtney Ramsey of Dallas will make her appearance as the next speaker scheduled for Leadership Perryton. She was originally set to speak Feb. 3, but the predicted severe winter weather pushed it a week later, to Thursday, Feb.

The final deadline to sign up for baseball and softball at the Perryton Activity Center is coming up this Friday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. Boys and girls ages 4-15 are welcome to play. The program fee is $35 for PAC members and $65 for non-members.
