Quilt guild holds annual challenge

The Friendship Quilt Guild has a challenge each year as one of their activities. The Challenge for 2025 was a Half Square Triangle Challenge. Half Square triangles are a block that is use in quilting along with other blocks to create patterns.

Rangers fall to Greenwood, 59-20 in bi-district game

The Perryton Rangers advanced to the bi-district round of the playoffs, facing the Midland Greenwood Rangers (10-0) in Plainview last Friday.Greenwood dominated the game, winning 59-20.Greenwood had the ball first, and scored quickly, in four plays, to lead 6-0.

United Way drive is at 44% of goal

The Ochiltree United Way’s 2026 fund drive gathered a few more donations last week.The drive has now raised $43,469, which is 44% of its $98,000 goal.No new 100% Companies joined the list. There are 11 companies on the list, meaning every employee contributed to United Way.

Ochiltree County’s Museum of the Plains celebrated its 50th anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 16, with a reception and presentation. The museum also named two new trustees emeritus, Randy and Janice McLain.

Arts & Crafts Festival is this weekend

The Perryton Satellite Center’s Arts & Crafts Festival will be held this weekend, Nov. 22-23, at the Expo Center. It is the 55th year for the event.The hours for the show will be Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 23, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

DAR is making early plans for Wreaths Across America on Dec. 13

The Wolf Creek Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution are ready for this year’s annual Wreaths Across America ceremony.For the tenth year, Ochiltree County will participate in the nationwide Wreaths Across America ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m.
