State reports drop in county COVID-19 cases

The State of Texas’ COVID- 19 numbers for Ochiltree County dropped again late this week. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, the county has had 25 new cases of the virus in the last 14 days, a decrease of 32% over the previous 14 days.

PISD earns award for Ranger Camp

The Perryton ISD continues has received more recognition from the Texas Education Agency. First, it was the “A” rating for the district. Now, the district has been honored by the Region 16 Service Center for “Best Practices” for the district’s Ranger Camp afterschool program.

The Perryton Independent School District received an award from the Texas Education Agency and the Region 16 Service Center for “Best Practices” for its Ranger Camp after school program. The district has just recently received an “A’ rating from the TEA as well.

Weekend showers bring scattered rain

Widely scattered rain showers brought only a little rain to Ochiltree County this weekend. KEYE Radio’s official rainfall total recorded only a trace of moisture. Elsewhere in the county, Scott Brosowske, at the Courson Archaeological Research Lab, 12 miles south-southeast of Perryton, reported .

COVID cases hold steady in county

COVID-19 results from Ochiltree General Hospital are unchanged since last week. According to Chief Nursing Officer Jyme Kinnard, RN, Ochiltree General Hospital completed 68 total COVID-19 tests in the last seven days, with 13 positive cases, unchanged from last week.

Rifle and Pistol Club sets monthly meeting The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Expo Center. The club will be discussing new and ongoing projects.
