Benefit events to be held for tornado recovery

A number of events have been announced for the coming weeks to benefit recovery efforts from the tornado that struck Perryton on June 15. A golf tournament to benefit Perryton disaster relief will be held this weekend, July 8-9 at the Booker Golf Course.

OGH board okays district purchases

The Ochiltree County Hospital District’s Board of Directors met for their regular monthly meeting on Monday evening at The Seasons Assisted Living Center. Among other items on the agenda, the board members approved a number of new purchases for the hospital.

ERCOT can’t be sued, high court rules

The Texas Supreme Court on Friday ruled that ERCOT, which operates the state’s power grid, is a government entity and is immune to lawsuits resulting from Winter Storm Uri in February 2021. The 5-4 ruling reversed a previous judgment from a Dallas appeals court, The Dallas Morning News reported.
