Recent activity in the county Jail included: Raul Cavazos, 37, was arrested on a warrant for a second degree felony charge of burglary of a habitation. He was released on $25,000 bond. Sebastian Jaime Mendoza, 17, was arrested on a second degree felony charge of sexual assault of a child.

YEARY NAMED CITIZEN OF THE YEAR

Friday last day to vote early in March 5 primary

Early voters have just two days left to cast ballots in the March 5 primary election. The last day to vote early is this Friday, March 1. Early voting hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Early voting is in the Ochiltree County Courthouse, first floor, south office.

Yeary named Citizen of the Year

Brady Yeary was named Citizen of the Year at the Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet on Thursday, Feb. 22, held at the Expo Center. The award was presented by Randy Brillhart, who read from the official nomination before he introduced Yeary.

Commissioners approve budgets to maintain funds

The Ochiltree County Court of Commissioners met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners approved the creation of two special budgets for the county.
The candidates for the Perryton Independent School District board election met on Monday afternoon at the PISD Administration Building to draw for ballot position for the election. Jeff Schollenbarger will be in first position on the ballot, followed by Bryce Hale, Wes Beal, Nuno Rodriguez, Chris Lingo, and Kevin Pshigoda. Game warden speaks to Alamo 4-H Club

The Ochiltree County 4HAlamo Club met Monday, Feb. 9, in the Expo Center meeting room. Vice president Rylan Oquin led the business meeting. Local game warden Jeremy Schwalk presented the program. He talked about the duties of a game warden in the State of Texas.
