When we left off at our last article, Emma Rogers has just moved to Lubbock after graduating from Perryton High School. She did not get back to Perryton for a long time due to the war. Gas and tires were rationed so people were not on the highways very much. Friends and relatives were coming home from the war and that was when Rogers met the love of her life, Don Rogers.
