Jennie Junes have program on Operation Christmas Child

The Jennie June Club met Sept. 8 at the Senior Citizen Center for luncheon. Rita Castle gave the prayer before the meal. Hostesses were Carolyn Thomas, LaDonna Barclay and Janet Blasingame. The program was given by Vicky Black on Operation Christmas Child.

Happy Fall Ya’ll. It’s our last week of September..already. Here come the holidays, full speed ahead. I was sure loving the cooler weather last week. If you run into Cindy Drum somewhere, please give her an extra pat on the back.

The Ochiltree County 4-H Ag/Livestock Club met Sept. 11 at the Expo Center. The program was given by county agent Scott Strawn on the importance of nutrients in feeding animals and how to read feed labels.

Beyea is elected board chairman of PPROA group

The Panhandle Producers and Royalty Owners Association (PPROA) recently elected Richard Beyea of Perryton as their chairman of the board for 2021-23. Beyea’s election took place during the PPROA’s annual meeting and convention in Amarillo Aug. 31 through Sept. 1. Over 200 attended the convention.

RIBBON CUTTING FOR BURKES OUTLET—Members of the Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce gathered on Sept. 9 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the grand opening of Burkes Outlet at 904 S. Main Street. The discount retail outlet store opened its doors for the first time last week.

Coleman and June Chandler of Perryton will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Sept. 15, 1951. They have lived in Perryton since 1959, moving here from Pampa into their newly built home on their anniversary.
