Castanon is named PPW Young Careerist

Wendy Castanon has been chosen as the Young Careerist of the Month by the Panhandle Professional Women’s Club. She is married to Mike Castanon, and they have two children, Jaxten and Linely. She and her husband own Mikey’s Liquor. The main requirements for her job are TABC certification.

  Don’t blink…this month is almost gone. Actually, this whole summer has just flown by. Poof and it’s gone. Mornings coming to work are sure different now that school is gearing up. There is a lot more traffic, and lots of runners on the highway and streets, so please keep a watchful eye out.

How much should a backpack weigh?

Backpacks are handy tools that carry an array of gear. Students rely on them to hold books, while hikers and campers utilize backpacks to carry items such as food and beverages that keep them safe on trails. Even office workers may turn to backpacks to carry laptops or other tools of the trade.

Day quilt group program given on ‘The Back Story’

The Friendship Quilt Guild day group met Aug. 10 at Community Worship Center. The program, “The Back Story,” was given by Cynthia Shattles. She gave information and creating and building better backs for quilts, as well as distributed hand outs.

Isabella Hansen has been selected as the Perryton Lions Club’s Sweetheart for 2022-23. She is the daughter of Torben and Mette Hansen, and is a senior at Perryton High School. She plans to attend college after graduation and pursue a degree in the medical field.
