Perryton residents got treated to a special program by Amarillo’s Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at the Museum of the Plains. Volunteers at the center spoke to a roomful of kids, parents, and animal lovers about the work the center does caring for injured animals before releasing them back into the wild. They also brought a number of tame ambassador animals, including an opossum, a skunk, a Texas tortoise, and a corn snake.

Members of Ochiltree County 4-H held their annual scavenger hunt food drive last week as teams of students roamed Perryton collecting food to donate to Jireh Food Ministry. Members collected almost 200 food items to donate to Jireh.

Thirteen Ochiltree County 4-H members recently competed at the Panhandle District 4-H Roundup Contests with one member qualifying for State 4-H Competition to be held next June in College Station.

The bank’s main building had sustained damage in the June 2023 tornado that struck downtown and had finally re-opened for business at the end of September.
