Good grief, time is flying by. It seems like yesterday I was impatiently waiting to see little sprigs of life pop up in the garden, and now I am watching it shrivel up and die. Time to move on to the next hobby. Holiday season. Here it comes guys.

The month of October is when we usually have our United Way bake sale. This year, we are going to try something different. It will be held in November, the Monday before Thanksgiving. We are in hopes that this will help you out with some of that holiday baking.

There will be lots of pies and cakes, and several delicious goodies. So when the family calls to ask, “What do you want me to bring to Thanksgiving dinner?” – jump on that pie wagon, we got ya covered. SSShhhhh, I will never tell you didn’t bake it yourself. It will forever be our little secret.

I have this certain aunt (not mentioning any names) who makes the best cherry cobbler. Wouldn’t that be perfect added to your desserts turkey day? Maybe I could talk CJ, oops,I mean my aunt, into making one for us. All of you bakers out there help us out on Nov. 23. Also, Nov. 24 is my birthday, so all birthday cakes are welcome.

Ochiltree County Senior Citizen Center is open M-W-F from 11:30 a.m. until you are finished visiting. We have two meeting rooms available for your group to gather and enjoy lunch with a more personal/private atmosphere.
