Everyone is invited to gather at the courthouse on Sept. 15 at 7 pm for a “Patriots Call to Duty” meeting. The presentation will consist of the Republican and Democratic platforms, and what we can do to save the “Republic”.

Several concerned members of our community have prayed diligently and have worked many hours searching for the Christian solution to our nation’s struggles at present. It’s time to step up and be heard. If not now, when?

OCSCA Fall Fundraiser - Cajun Night will begin at 6 pm on Thursday, Sept. 17. Kerry Symons and the board of director’s will be serving up some authentic Cajun food. But…..you must have a ticket to try it out. I have them available at the center, or get them from one of our board members.

Don’t wait, there are only a limited amount being sold. And don’t even try sweet talking your way in that night without a ticket; I will be hiding out in the kitchen so Brenda Griffin can be the bad guy giving you the bad news. No ticket, no food, no bread pudding.

We will also have entertainment from Perryton’s very own Sam Aylor. If you haven’t heard him play, check out his Facebook page. Sam began picking up meals at the center, which led us to become friends on Facebook, which offered me the pleasure of hearing him play. The first time I heard him, I thought to myself: we gotta get him here at the center. I can’t wait to sit back and enjoy his music.

There will be door prizes also, along with a fun way to win them. Fun night straight ahead.

OGH girls will be back on Wednesday to check us out. They take your blood pressure, oxygen and sugar levels and the good o’ cholesterol level.

Zulema Miranda was told her high cholesterol was caused from Mexican food. How do you tell that to someone who makes some of the best Mexican food in town? That’s like telling Ranae Maxwell Cantu she can’t eat Dixie Dog food. Well alrighty then. Guess we better just learn to live with it, coz it’s not happenin’.

Menu for Monday, Mexican pile-on, fruit salad; Wednesday, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, Alabama pecan bread; Friday, country style pork ribs, cowboy potatoes, baked beans, fried okra, apple cinnamon roll cake. Each meal is served with salad, vegetables, bread, coffee and tea. Beverages are not included with takeout meals.

Please Note: Menus are subject to change.
