Rangers hit the road again Friday to face Childress

The Rangers will hit the road again this Friday to play the Childress Bobcats. Game time is 7 p.m. The Bobcats are 1-0 on the season, pummeling Panhandle 68-27 in their season opener. Childress is picked to finish second in District 3-31, DII, behind last year’s state champion, Canadian.

Rettes continue busy season

The Rangerette volleyball team continues to rack up games in the early pre-district season. They traveled to play in the River Road Tournament last weekend where they were able to play 8 matches. After the first day of matches, the teams were divided into Gold, Silver and Ivory Brackets.

Rette volleyball opens the season

The Rangerette volleyball team kicked off its 2021 season under the direction of a new head coach. Coach Jan Reed takes the reins of the program this season and is assisted by coaches Tabatha O’Dell and Kami Appelhans. Perryton’s varsity roster holds seven seniors and six juniors.

WORK HARD, PLAY HARD—The Perryton Activity Center sponsored a sand volleyball tournament on Aug. 10 at Leatherman Park as part of this month’s Wheatheart of the Nation Celebration. Players came together from all over the county to compete in the tourney.

Junior golfers to compete in junior tour championship

Three Perryton Golf Club juniors competed in the NTPGA West Area Summer Series Championship Aug. 2 at Ross Rogers Golf Course in Amarillo. All three qualified for the NTPGA Junior Tour Championship at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas Aug. 9-10.
