Rangers take Caprock to overtime

Free basketball was played at the Ranger gymnasium on Friday night. Spectators got a bonus on the admission price when the Rangers and the Caprock Longhorns battled into overtime. The score was knotted at 54 at the end of regulation.

Rangers travel to the Gruver Tournament

The Perryton Rangers round ballers made the short trip to Gruver several times last week to compete in the Gruver Holiday Classic. Perryton played four tough games, including one against a district opponent.

Rangerettes compete in Gruver Tournament

The Rangerette basketball team took to the hardwood for their final pre-district tournament last week. The competition was tough, with two number one ranked teams in the state playing in the holiday classic. Perryton opened play with a tough contest against Sudan.

Lady Bulldogs bite the Rettes

In an early Friday afternoon game, the Rangerette basketball team hosted a tough team from Hooker, OK. The Lady Bulldogs offer quickness and the ability to score in rapid spurts. Hooker opened up an early lead in the first half and rode that lead to victory by the final score of 53-41.

Rangers win in thrilling fashion

The Ranger basketball team hosted the Hooker Bulldogs on Friday for an exciting game. It took extra periods before the Rangers pulled out the win by the final score of 61-58. Ranger Daxton Rigdon answered the bell in the two overtimes to propel the Rangers to victory.

Rangerettes compete in Woodward Tourney

The Rangerette basketball team played in their second of three pre-district tournaments last week in Woodward. The tournament hosts good teams from Oklahoma, which the Rangerettes do not get to face anywhere else. Perryton opened play on Thursday against the Guthrie Lady Bluejays.

MORE FISH IN THE LAKES—Two seniors on Perryton High School’s Bass Fishing team are in seventh place overall, out of 217 other teams, and are in the running for scholarships from the Texas High School Bass Association.

The Ranger basketball team crossed state lines to play in the Woodward, OK tournament last week. Competition was tough, with several large Oklahoma schools vying for the title. The Rangers opened play against the Woodward Boomers. Julian Cervantes had his best game of the year for Perryton.
