Taylor Beyea was always bound for success. She was a National Merit Scholar at graduation from Perryton High School, but that seemed like it would be the least of her recognitions with the bright future that laid ahead of her. A few short years later, we can see that will be the case.

PHS athletes compete in regional meet

The speed and distances increase dramatically as track athletes advance closer to the state meet. Many fans attending the 4A regional meet at Lowrey Field in Lubbock say they felt faster jjust by attending the event on Friday and Saturday. Three Perryton High School athletes competed in the meet.

High school athletes were honored at the Perryton High School All Sports Awards on Monday evening. Students in every sport were recognized and honored by their coaches, with a number of awards presented.

Athletes in all sports were honored at the Perryton High School All Sports Awards on Monday evening. The event was hosted by the Perryton Lions Club in the PHS auditorium. The emcee for the evening was athletic director and head football coach Kurt Haberthur.

Rangerettes close out the softball season

The Rangerette softball team hosted the Hereford Lady Whitefaces for their last game of the season on Friday. The two squads played a close game, which ended with Hereford winning 7-5 at home in their first meeting. The results were different in Perryton.

PHS track teams compete at area meet

The competition gets much tougher as the postdistrict track season continues. Times get faster, jumps get higher and longer, and the throwing distances increase, as athletes are weeded out on the way to the state meet.
