February 15, 1929 — March 20, 2023 Viola Esther Neufeld was born near Colony, OK, to John and Esther Fadenrecht on February 15, 1929, and passed away March 20, 2023, in her home in Golden Oaks Village in Enid, OK.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, June 10, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Mennonite Church in Enid, OK.
In April 27, 1947, she married Leon E. Neufeld, and they enjoyed 58 years together on a farm near Balko, OK. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in June of 1997.
They attended the Balko Mennonite Brethren Church where she sang in the choir and in a womens trio. She was a well-known baker of beautiful wedding and birthday cakes, and also worked at Edna’s Flowers in Perryton for many years. She moved from Balko, OK, to Enid, OK, in 2007 and lived her final 16 years at Golden Oaks Village. She loved her new home and quickly made many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Leon; and two sisters, Arlene Schmidt and Irene Adams.
Viola is survived by her daughter Kathy Toews and husband Arrel of Chapel Hill, NC; granddaughters Erin Lemon and husband David of Crozet, VA, and Laura Martin and husband Barron of Bethesda, MD; and four great-grandchildren, Austin and Benjamin Lemon, and Barron and Ellie Martin.
A burial was held in the Balko Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, Balko, OK, on Friday, March 24, 2023.
