Vernon Leon Culver, 87, passed from this life Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in Amarillo. Graveside services were 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
He was born April 2, 1933 in Borger to Marvin Leon Culver and Anna Mae White Culver. Vernon was a Lineman for North Plains Electric and had lived in the Panhandle area for his lifetime. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1961.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sue, daughter Tena Brooks, granddaughter Regina Culver, brothers Hubert and Marvin, Jr. and sister Margaret Rogers.
He is survived by two sisters, Clara Lou Gifford of Midwest City, OK and Shirley Gage of Beeville, three grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
