Tony Johnson

Tony Johnson, 72, of Perryton, died Aug. 17, 2022 at the Amarillo VA Hospital.

A memorial service was held Monday, Aug. 22, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Duce Cooper officiating. Cremation and arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

He was on Dec. 21, 2949 in Ardmore, OK, and graduated from Perryton High School. He was a member of the U.S. Army from 1971-76, and served in Vietnam.

He married Henryetta Lehman on Aug. 30, 1974. He worked in the oilfield as a drilling superintendent for Leonard Hudson Drilling. He also worked for Unit Drilling and later as an oil and gas consultant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Irene (Briscoe) Johnson; and one brother, Mark Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Henryetta of the home; one son, David Johnson; one daughter, Penny Juarez; and four grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to one’s favorite charity.
