Virginia Symons
Virginia Lou Symons, 97, of Perryton, died Sept. 6, 2025.
Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 9, at First Methodist Church in Perryton, with Rev. Mark Metzger officiating. Burial followed in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
She was born Feb. 6, 1928 in Perryton. She graduated from Perryton High School in 1945, and attended West Texas State University. She married Elton Bryan Symons on Dec. 28, 1946.
She worked as an insurance clerk for the Sanford and Betty Clinic in Perryton. She was a member of the Naomi Circle, Methodist Gideons auxiliary and Rushing Wind Walk to Emmaus. She was a member of First Methodist Church, and served with Meals on Wheels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton; one son, Terry Dee Symons; her parents, Kirt and Stella Virginia (Dodson) Williams; and one sister Lillian Danzey.
She is survived by one daughter, Kay Turner; one son, Kerry Lee Symons; one sister, Vivian Lois Williams; seven grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Gideons, P.O. Box 254, Perryton TX 79070; or Waka Christian Center, P.O. Box 52, Perryton.
