Russ Thomass, 84, peacefully entered into his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 4, 2024, at his home in Kapaa HI.
Russ was born onAugust 29, 1940, to Ray and Patricia Thomas of Perryton.
Russ graduated from Perryton High School in 1958 and continued his education at The University of Texas. He received his degree from The University of Texas in 1962.
Russ then relocated to Hawaii and began his career at Kaua’i High School as a History Teacher. Russ started the football program at the High School and was Athletic Director, Head Football Coach, and Tennis Coach. He later became the Curriculum Director and retired from Kaua’i High School.
Russ loved his family and made many trips back to Perryton to visit his brother and sister-in-law, niece, nephew, and great niece and nephews until the Texas Panhandle winters and long trips became too much for him.
Russ is survived by his brother Kim Thomas and wife Carolyn of Perryton, niece, Shari Thomas of Reno NV; nephew, Kim Thomas II and wife Malissa of Perryton; great niece Hallie Thomas; and great nephews Trae and Brendon Thomas.
