Roy T. Pointer, 88, of Perryton, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Perryton with Rev. Mark Metzger officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Roy was born Oct. 1, 1933 in Tulsa, OK to Thomas Leroy and Lovis Ruby (Roy) Pointer. Roy graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1958. He moved to Ochiltree County in 1963. He married Janye Todd Helton on Aug. 30, 1986 in Amarillo.
He was a Shriner, a board member for the Senior Citizen Center and the Perryton Club. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Perryton.
He is survived by his wife, Janye of the home; daughter, Suzanne Pointer of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Michael Pointer and wife, Jalane, of Paris; daughter, Tammy Bush and husband, Ryan, of Keller; son, Todd Helton of Weatherford, OK; grandchildren, Brady Pointer, Zac and Maddie Pointer, Macie Pointer, Hutton Pointer, Oliver Pointer, Trent Holbert, Tate and Courtney Holbert, Caleb and Hallye Quinn, Kennedie Helton, and Ireland Helton; and great-grandchildren, Holden Quinn and Kyler Quinn.
He is preceded his parents, and twin brother, Ray Pointer.
