Rites set for Wilson

Billy O. “Beet” Wilson, 93, of Perryton, died March 17, 2022.

Services will be held Thursday, March 24, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marlon Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

He was born Oct. 7, 1928 in Beaver County, OK, and married Chris Cornsilk on Dec. 25, 1955 in Clayton, NM. He served in the United States Army from 1953-60. He worked for a natural gas pipeline for 35 years, and farmed and ranched.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Chris; his parents, Thomas Oliver and Mabel Wilson; two brothers, Jack Wilson and Bobby Wilson; and one sister, Norma Jean Wilson.

He is survived by four daughters, LaDonna Juarez, Tanya Gastineau and Bryna Yara, all of Perryton, and Macey Hawkins of Guymon, OK; one son, Jeff Wilson of Perryton; three sisters, Betty Law of Balko, OK, Mary Lou Teel of Blanchard, OK and Lola Belle “Odie” Dear of Perryton; one brother, Dugan Wilson of Perryton; 10 grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Museum of the Plains, 1200 N. Main, Perryton; or one’s favorite charity.
