Rites set for Nowlin

Richard A. Nowlin, 79, of Booker, died Dec. 11, 2021.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. at Heart Cemetery in Booker, with Josh Clevenger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Viewing/visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 15, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Chapel in Booker.

He was born July 29, 1942 in Perryton, and married Carol Crawford on Dec. 10, 1966 in Perryton.

He was a USDA federal food and meat inspector at Booker Packing. He was actively involved in Boy Scouts and served as scoutmaster for 18 years. He was a member of the Perryton Bass Club, Booker Fire Department and Booker Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Royce and Thelma Nowlin; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Yoakley and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arnold.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; two sons, Clinton Nowlin of Elkton, KY and Allen Nowlin of Booker; one daughter, Carolyn Renaii Ortiz of San Antonio; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
