Dorothy Stroud Yara, 72, of Amarillo, formerly of Perryton, died Dec. 17, 2020 in Amarillo.
Private family services will be held at Blue Mound Cemetery in Balko, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel in Amarillo.
She was born Oct. 15, 1948 in Perryton. She lived in Perryton most of her life. She married Jimmy Yara on Nov. 16, 1964 in Perryton. He died in 2010.
She worked at GTE for more than 25 years. She began as an operator and retired as the warehouse manager.
She moved to Amarillo 20 years ago. She was a member of First Family Church in Amarillo.
She is survived by one son, Jimmy Yara, of Amarillo; three daughters, Angie Yara, Carolyn Yara and Marilyn Yara, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Darrell Stroud and Harold Stroud; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
