Larry Don Smith, 70, on Perryton, died Dec. 10, 2020 at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.
Services were held Monday, Dec. 14, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mark Metzger officiating. Burial followed at Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 4, 1950, and graduated from Perryton High School in 1968. He was a graduate of West Texas State University. He married Joyce Richburg on June 12, 1971.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and its Wesleyan Choir, as well as serving and chairing numerous church committees. He served as a director for the Ochiltree Soil and Water Conservation District for over 30 years, and worked many years with the Ochiltree County Junior Livestock Show, serving as assistant superintendent and superintendent.
He also served on the Perryton Activity Center board and coached several youth league basketball teams. He served on the Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce board and was a master mason of the Grand Lodge of Texas. He was a farmer and rancher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and May Lee Smith; one brother, Gary Smith; and one sister, Connie Weis.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; three daughters, Misty Dollar, Brenna Vela and Chandra Bailey; one son, Kade Smith; and 12 grandchildren.
