Mildred Reynolds

Mildred Reynolds, 95, of Booker, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 at 2 p.m.at Booker Friends Church with Darin Kearns and Wayne Anson officiating. Burial followed in Heart Cemetery in Booker. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Mildred Lucille Howard was born to James Merlin and Flora E. (Cox) Howard on March 16, 1927 in Shattuck, OK. She graduated from Booker High School in 1945. She worked in the AAA office in the Lipscomb County Courthouse from 1945-47.

She married Albert Lewis Reynolds on Aug. 5, 1947 at the View Point Friends Church. They moved around a lot but made their home in the town of Booker since 1983. She worked several positions for Booker ISD. After serving 25 years, she retired in May 1991.

She also held positions at Lipscomb County Abstract Office, City Hall, Booker Equity and the Liberal Area Vo-Tech School. She was a member of the Booker Friends Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also served as recording clerk, kept the membership role, and was secretary of WMU.

She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter and her husband, Patricia and Wayne Anson of Grand Island, NE; a son and his wife, Merlin Gene and Becky Reynolds of Beaver, OK; six grandchildren Dawn Young, Dale Anson, Kory Anson, Kari Ballard, Chance Reynolds and Choyce Reynolds; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and church friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; a grandson, Shadto Anson; a great grandson, Wyatt Young; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ruth and Leo Miller; a brother, Delbert Howard; and a sister, Nina Baker.
