Jose Martinez, 52, of Perryton, died Dec. 23, 2020.
Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Key Heights Baptist Church with Terry Williams officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
He was born Jan. 10, 1968.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Filemon and Angelita Martinez.
He is survived by three sons, Erik Martinez, Josue Martinez and Ezequiel Martinez, all of Perryton; three brothers, Daniel Martinez of Moore, OK, Juan F. Martinez of Perryton and David Martinez of Amarillo; and two sisters, Luz Maria Garcia of Edmond, OK and Consuelo Reynoso of Beaver, OK.
Polychromed
Until the time of Michelangelo, many sculptors colored their statues, and most from ancient Greece and Rome at one time had been painted or “polychromed.” Over the course of years, rain washed the colors off the marble.
