Juan Gonzales, 65, of Perryton, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020.
Services are scheduled for a later date in Harlingen. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Juan was born Jan. 29, 1955 in Donna to Vidal and Feliza Arzola Gonzales. He was raised in Harlingen, and attended Harlingen High School. He moved to Perryton in 1974 and married the love of his life, Maria Estrada on July 7, 1980 in Perryton. Juan lived in Perryton until 2013, when he moved to Alice, and returned to Perryton in 2016. He worked in the oilfield for almost 40 years, until retiring in 2015. He will always be remembered for his jokes and ability to make everyone laugh. He was a loving father and papa to his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; several brothers-in-law, Bill Riedinger, Frank Sosa, Simon Fajardo, Mike Cano, Roberto Resendez, and Luis Contreras; and one sister-in-law, Maria Garcia.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria of Perryton; his daughters, Maria Gonzales of Perryton, and Juanita Mackey and husband, Tim of San Angelo; son, Juan Gonzales, Jr. and wife, Juanita of Stillwater, OK; grandchildren, Bryan Figures and Joshua Figures of Perryton, Alexus Gonzales of Owasso, OK, Chanel Mackey and Janie Mackey of San Angelo, Juan Gonzales III and Giovonni Gonzales of San Antonio, Erica Garcia-Gonzales and Khloe Gonzales of Stillwater, OK, Isabella Gonzales of Perryton; siblings, Saloman Garcia of Amarillo, Frank and Becky Gonzales and Tony and Shannon Gonzales of Perryton, Sara Riedinger of Salina, CA, Amparo Sosa of Shawnee, KS, Refugia Fajardo, Lidia Cano, Maria Resendez, Sylvia Contreras, Teresa and Aurelio Lopez, all of Harlingen, and Rosa and Romaldo Rangel of Santa Rosa.
