Jerry was born April 13, 1935 in Reed, OK to Luther and Nettie Mae (Smith) Robertson. He grew up in Quail, TX, and was the sixth of seven children.

Jerry graduated from Dumas High School and that is where he met the love of his life, Charmaine Brown. Jerry and Charmaine were married and they began their life together in Texhoma, where Jerry was a junior high teacher and coach. He then went to work for Transwestern Pipeline, and they relocated to Darrouzett. Jerry retired from Transwestern in 1986.

For many years, Jerry coached Little League baseball in Darrouzett, where he passed along his love of the game. He was also a football and basketball referee and a baseball umpire for 40 years.

Jerry had a great love of the outdoors and hunting. Soon after moving back to Darrouzett, he became a wildlife enthusiast. Through his close work with landowners and knowledge of experts, he introduced turkey and pheasant to the area.

Because of his efforts, Lipscomb County and the Oklahoma Panhandle have benefitted greatly with an abundance of these two spe-cies. Jerry also began an extensive feeding program for quail and other wildlife with a successful gamestocking program.

Jerry was a mason, a wonderful husband, father and an influential grandfather and mentor.
