Icel Mae Bartel

Icel Mae (French) Bartel, adored wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother, was called to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 5, 2023.

Icel is best known for her immense faith in God, her selfless hospitality, and her ever flowing generous spirit. All who were privileged to know her knew she was a true follower of Jesus Christ and a prayer Warrior. His light shined through in her life and touched everyone she met. A loving, compassionate and absolutely wonderful mother.

Icel was passionate about family, her sisters and brothers-in-love, her many nieces and nephews, her heart was full with an abundance of pride (BDC1) and fond memories We are blessed to know Icel is now reunited with her best friends and sisters in Christ, Louise Bartel, Marlene Dover and Virginia Rogers, a true force to be reckoned with here on earth!

Icel is survived by her four cherished children: DerranandCheryl(Daniels) Bartel, Lori Bartel, Lex Bartel, and Dane and Twyla (Smith) Bartel, her five grandchildren: Maegan Bartel, Morgan (Bartel) and Tyler Mailath, Brianne and Leo (Martin) Bartel, Chandler Bartel and Dalton Bartel,andherthreegreat-grandchildren: Wesley Bartel-Thompson, Parker Mailath and Chloe Mailath.

Icel is preceded in death by her sweetheart and husband, Rex E. Bartel; her parents, Dewey and Ella French; her sister, Justine (French) Barlow, and brother, Travis French; nieces Leona Barlow, Vita Barlow and Valena (Bartel) Cox and nephew Lee Barlow; and her beloved little Shih Tzu Genevieve, lovingly known as Gena.

As requested a modest service was held at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, 1423 Cemetery Rd, Ft Gibson 74434 on Monday Jan. 16, 2023 at 10 a.m.
