Cristian Damien Hernandez, 10 months old, of Perryton, passed away April 24, 2021.
A funeral mass was held Wednesday, April 28, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Cesar Gomez officiating. Burial was in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
He was born June 26, 2020, to Jesus and Daniela (Garcia) Hernandez.
He is survived by his parents; three brothers, Jayden, Angel and Emanuel, all of Perryton; and his grandparents, Bertha Garcia of Las Cruces, NM, Margarita Hernandez of Perryton and Marcos Jurado of Perryton.
Miracle soap
Around 20 years ago, a Chinese soap hit it big with consumers in Asia. It claimed in ads that users would lose weight with Seaweed Defat Scented Soap simply by washing with it. The soap was sold in violation of the Japanese Pharmaceutical Affairs Law and was banned. Reportedly, the craze for the soap was so great that Japanese tourists from China and Hong Kong brought back large quantities. The product was also in violation of customs regulations. In June and July 1999, more than 10,000 bars were seized.
