Gearld Loyd Snyder, 74, of Eunice, NM passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the First Baptist Church in Eunice with Dennis Teeters officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Chapel of Hope of Hobbs.
Gearld was born in Centralia, IL on Nov. 14, 1946 to James and Anne Snyder. He graduated High School in 1964 from Dover, OK. He then completed two years at Okmulgee Technical College. Gearld spent 32 years in the oil and gas industry and 24 of those years dedicated to Texaco Oil and Gas.
He had a passion for stock car racing and was a steadfast fan of Cardinal Motor Speedway in Eunice.
Gearld was united in marriage to Kathy Newman on Nov. 21, 1975. They raised two children, Amy and Brent.
Gearld was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anne Snyder, and inlaws, Daniel and Helen Newman.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kathy; daughter, Amy and Chris Dearmin of Balko, OK; son, Brent and Pepper Snyder of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Madison Dearmin and Chandler Dearmin; sister-in-law, Lanora and Floyd Reynolds of Perryton; and brothers-in-law, Joe Newman of Balko, OK, Bill and Vee Newman of Guymon, OK, and Dale and Candee Newman of Stillwater, OK.
