Daniel Slaughter

Daniel Patton Slaughter, 61, of Perryton, formerly of Amarillo, passed away Feb. 8, 2022.

A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Richard Laverty officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Daniel was born Sept. 23, 1960 to Dean and Nelda (Patton) Slaughter in Perryton. He graduated from Perryton High School in 1979 and earned an accounting degree from West Texas State University in 1983, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

He worked in various positions as an auditor. He was involved in the Golden Spread Emmaus Community and Kairos Prison Ministry. He also enjoyed playing Santa Claus professionally. He was an active member of the Perryton chapter of AA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Nelda Slaughter, and grandparents, Jerry and Dorothy Slaughter and Lake and Dixie Patton.

He is survived by his son, Ian Slaughter of Amarillo; Terri Slaughter, the mother of his son of Amarillo; siblings, Terry Slaughter and wife, Janet, Tom Slaughter and wife, Mary Ann, and Denise Davis and husband, J.C., all of Perryton; and several nieces and nephews.
