Dorothy Maxine Hester Buzzard, 94, of Spearman, died Oct. 18, 2021 at Hansford Manor.
Services will be held Sunday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church in Spearman, with Rev. John Scott officiating, assisted by Danny Hendricks. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman. Services will be broadcast live on the funeral home’s Facebook, accessed at www.boxwellbros.com.
Visitation/viewing will be Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born March 11, 1927 in Hutchinson County, and graduated from Spear-man High School in 1944. She married Lloyd Buzzard Sept. 22, 1946. She was a charter member of the Gladiola Flower Club, a member of First Christian Church and an American Heart Association volunteer. She was a Gold Star Mother.
She was preceded in death by her son, Lynn; her husband; her parents, Ervin and Ethel (Sheets) Hester; and five siblings, Joyce Crum, J.D. Hester, Betty Scribner, Doris Beck and Mona Beth Windom.
She is survived by one daughter, Patty Butt; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
